Being married sure does have a way of sucking up time. And not to mention a new hobby of mountain biking. But I digress. There has been progress...while waiting for parts to come in to complete the rear suspension, I decided to tackle the differential mounting. I agonized over how exactly to mount the front of the diff, and had an idea in my head that I think would have worked decently. Then one day while flipping through
Kit Car Builder, I saw a picture of how
Everett-Morrison mounts their Ford diffs in their Cobra replica cars, and wanted to punch myself in the face for not thinking of it. If you squint really hard, you can kinda see how they did the front mounting:
So, like any good engineer, I pretty much copied their design. Here are the results:
It's still only tacked in, but that is the general idea. Parts should be in soon for the rear suspension, so I'm hoping I can finish that up over Memorial Day weekend, and then it is on to the front suspension. Hope I can have a rolling chassis in a
couple few months.
i had to do some searching to find this blog but then i remembered that i too have a blogspot and that's how i found it again! i'll follow it more, if you continue to post. i'm so jealous. someday i want to restore a car, not quite the same as building one from scratch but i'm not creative enough for that scratch build stuff. ;) besides, i design buildings, damnit! :D well, everything is looking good. good luck with the rest! and be sure to keep the Mrs. happy. ;)
